Gala Information

Velocity will be hosting a formal closing Gala on July 3rd, 2020. This event includes a three-course sit down dinner, a special performance by our Musical Artist featuring our Maximum Velocity Artists (MVA)s of 2019-2020, and our Maximum Velocity Performance (MVP) Competition.

Seating is limited. Ordering your tickets in advance is a requirement, as tickets will sell out. Tickets are non-refundable upon purchase. Registered studios will receive a link when gala tickets go on-sale. All ticket sales will be done through an online seating system.

Gala tickets range from $140 – $160 before the event, based on seating section. If tickets are still available at the event, there is an additional $20.00 fee applied.

We suggest staying over on July 3rd, 2020 if you are planning on attending the Season Finale Gala.

**The MVP Competition features the top five (5) scoring groups (Small Groups- Extended Production Groups) in all age categories (Mini, Junior, Intermediate, Teen and Senior) from the Season Finale Competition. Each studio can only compete once in each age category.

MVA REGISTRATION

In order to register online as a participant of the MVA Program, you must register for the event “2020 SEASON FINALE MVA PROGRAM”. Once the MVA participant is registered, please select MVA or MVA Runner-Up to receive the correct pricing.

*We will not accept any MVA registrations after the deadline.

MVA PROGRAM | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If my dancer won multiple scholarships during the 2019-2020 season, may we combine them to lower the registration fee?

Unfortunately, no. Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not be combined.

What time will the MVA program begin on June 27th?

The MVA orientation meeting will begin at 8:00am.

When do you suggest arriving and departing Las Vegas if we are participating in the MVA program?

We suggest arriving on June 26th, and departing on July 3rd. The MVA orientation meeting will begin at 8:00am on June 27th, and we anticipate the Gala coming to a close around 11pm on July 3rd.

Can a MVA participant compete a solo in the Season Finale competition, as well as the MVA solo competition?

MVA dancers may compete in both the MVA solo competition and the Season Finale competition, if they are attending with a studio of 15+ students or competing in a group number.

*A dancer does not need to attend with a studio of 15+ dancers, or compete in a group number to compete a solo in the MVA competition.

Can MVA dancers compete the same solo for the MVA competition and the Season Finale competition?

If a student is competing in both the MVA solo competition, and the Season Finale competition, they must compete 2 separate solos.

Can MVA dancers participate in the performance with the Musical Artist if he/she does not have a solo to compete in the MVA solo competition?

No, it is mandatory that all MVA dancers to compete a solo in the MVA competition. MVA dancers must participate in all aspects of the MVA Program (solo competition, auditions, classes, headshots, rehearsals) to participate in the Musical Artist performance at the Gala.

Does a MVA solo need to pre-qualify in order to compete in the MVA solo competition?

No, a MVA solo does not need to pre-qualify to compete in the MVA solo competition, even if that solo did not compete at a regional event.

What does the MVA audition consist of?

This audition will be composed of a ballet, jazz, and hip-hop portion. This is not an audition to perform with our Musical Artist.

If a student is part of the MVA program, do they need to audition again to perform with the Musical Artist?

No, once a student has received the MVA Runner-Up or MVA scholarship at a 2019-2020 regional city and he/she is able to participate in the full MVA experience (MVA Solo, MVA Audition, MVA Headshots, Rehearsals, Convention Classes). All dancers registered for the MVA program will be performing with the Musical Artist at the Gala.

Is the full week mandatory for all MVA participants?

Yes, the full week is mandatory in order to participate in the MVA program. This includes all meetings, rehearsals, convention classes, and auditions. No exceptions.

If a MVA cannot commit to the full week of MVA events, does their scholarship towards the season finale still apply?

Yes, if a student is unable to commit to the full week of events, their scholarship for the 2020 Season Finale do still apply. This dancer would then register for the Season Finale convention classes and would not be included in any of the MVA events, including the Musical Artist performance.

How will the National MVA Dancers be chosen?

The MVA Dancers will earn points throughout the week for the following:

MVA Solo Competition
MVA Audition
Attendance in rehearsals and convention classes (Attendance will be taken in all rehearsals and convention classes)

The dancers with the highest combined score at the end of the week, will be awarded the National Maximum Velocity Artist title.

Can anyone register for the MVA program?

A student must have received a MVA Runner-Up or MVA scholarship at a 2019-2020 regional city in order to participate.

How do I register for the MVA program?

In order to register online as a participant of the MVA Program, you must register online for the event “2020 SEASON FINALE MVA PROGRAM”. This is a separate registration from the “Velocity| LAS VEGAS | SEASON FINALE 2020”. Once the MVA dancer is registered, please select MVA or MVA Runner-Up to receive the correct pricing.

How do I select the MVA costume size and order additional Gala tickets?

To select the MVA Costume size and purchase additional Gala Tickets, please select “Event Options” while completing “Step 2” of the registration process. Please include all of the Gala Ticket attendee’s names in the “Notes” section.

Should I include the MVA participant’s Gala ticket in my order?

Please do not include the MVA participant’s Gala ticket in your online registration. These tickets are included in their MVA Registration fee. A code will be sent out once Gala tickets go on sale. It is up to each dancer/parent to book a gala ticket (using the MVA code) for dinner and the show. Velocity will not assign seats for the MVA dancers. MVA dancers are able to sit where they select, during the ticket purchasing process.

Will my MVA participant have time to enjoy their dinner at the Gala?

Yes, all attendees will have the time to eat, and enjoy the Gala prior to the show beginning. An announcement will be made after dinner, when it is time for the dancers to report to the dressing room to prepare for their performance.

Is there assigned seating at the Gala? Will our studio be able to sit together?

There is assigned seating at the Gala. These assigned seats are selected by you at time of purchasing online.
